Step-by-Step Guide to Prepare Favorite Stifado

Hello everybody, I hope you are having an amazing day today. Today, we’re going to make a special dish, stifado. One of my favorites. This time, I’m gonna make it a little bit tasty. This will be really delicious.

Stifado is one of the most favored of recent trending meals in the world. It is easy, it’s quick, it tastes yummy. It is appreciated by millions daily. They’re nice and they look wonderful. Stifado is something that I’ve loved my entire life.

To get started with this recipe, we have to first prepare a few components. You can cook stifado using 23 ingredients and 8 steps. Here is how you can achieve it.

The ingredients needed to make Stifado:
  1. Get Marinade
  2. Prepare rosemary
  3. Prepare dried oregano
  4. Make ready red wine
  5. Prepare wine vinegar
  6. Take garlic, crushed
  7. Make ready cloves
  8. Take cinnamon stick
  9. Get Stew
  10. Prepare diced beef
  11. Make ready shallots, whole
  12. Prepare tomatoes
  13. Get tomato purée
  14. Take beef stock
  15. Prepare bay leaves
  16. Take carrots, 1cm slices
  17. Get mushrooms, quartered
  18. Make ready Dumplins
  19. Get butter
  20. Get self raising flour
  21. Take egg
  22. Get milk
  23. Prepare chopped chives or parsley
Instructions to make Stifado:
  1. Mix the marinade ingredients together then add the beef. Leave in the fridge for at least 2 hours
  2. Fry the whole shallots until they start to colour. Set aside.
  3. Brown the beef and set aside. You will have to do it in batches to not overcrowd the pan
  4. Put all the rest of the stew ingredients, including the marinade but not the shallots into the pan and bring to the boil. Add the beef, out the lid on and cook for 1hr at 180oC
  5. After an hour, stir the stew and add the shallots. Cook for another 30min.
  6. During this 30min, make the dumplings. Rub the butter and flour together to form breadcrumbs. Beat the egg and add the herbs and milk to it. Add to the milk to form a sticky dough
  7. When the stew has had its 30min, spoon blobs of dumpling mixture on to, ~2cm apart. You will get around 8-10.
  8. Put the stew back in the oven with the lid off for 30min
