The ingredients needed to make Steamed Lobster:
  1. Take 1-1/2# Live Lobsters
  2. Make ready Bamboo skewers
  3. Get Large stockpot
  4. Make ready Steamer basket
  5. Get Melted Butter
  6. Take Shellfish cracker or nutcracker
Instructions to make Steamed Lobster:
  1. Insert a skewer from the tail vent, along the top of the shell to the front of the shell. This keeps the tail from curling.
  2. Put the steamer in the bottom of the stockpot, add about 1 Tbs of Kosher Salt and fill the pot with water to just over the top of the steamer.
  3. Bring to a boil then put the Lobsters in, headfirst and cover.
  4. Cook for 14 minutes for a 1 1/2# or 10 minutes for a 1#.
  5. When the time is up, remove with tongs and place on a cutting board.
  6. Remove skewer and rubber bands and either serve on a large plate or separate the tail from the body.
  7. Serve with melted butter and a good bottle of white wine of your choice.
